I grew up in rural Oklahoma and graduated in 1998. 1998 was also the year I stumbled across an old Alesis synthesizer and began teaching myself to sequence music electronically. In '99 I came to Lawrence to expand my horizons. I attended KU for 3 or 4 semesters, all the while tinkering with Cakewalk Sonar, FL Studio, and Steinberg Cubase.
I eventually made the move to Johnson County Community College and took classes in the Center for Electronic Music. Here I learned to play with Digital Performer 4 and Pro Tools and I also took music theory and composition classes. They say that "okies are like old pickup trucks; you can beat them up and take them anywhere." I think that's true in my case.
I'm currently learning the ins and outs of Reason 4.0 and working with Sony Vegas 8.0 editing video and I like to play around with my Roland VS-2480. I love learning new software, creating new music, and working with other artists and talent. I love working at Free State Studios. It's really great working with so many creative and talented people.
